CUSTOM ORTHOTICS AT THE WELLNESS HUB
Custom orthotics for feet that carry you all day
Sore heels, aching arches, or knees + hips that complain by the end of the day. Custom orthotics are made from an impression of your own feet + built to support how you move. Assessed + fitted by our chiropractors in Stoney Creek + the greater Hamilton area.
Custom orthotics are a simple way to support your feet, + everything they hold up, through the shoes you're already wearing.
A WHOLE-BODY APPROACH TO YOUR FEET
Your feet carry everything above them. When they're not well supported, the effects can travel: into your arches + heels, then up into your knees, your hips + your low back. Sometimes the ache you feel isn't where the problem starts.
Custom orthotics are shoe inserts made from an impression of your own feet. They're designed to support your foot structure, take load off joints + tissues that are working hard, + help you move more comfortably through your day. They can be made for everyday shoes, running + athletic shoes, work boots, or business shoes.
At Twh, orthotics are assessed + prescribed by our chiropractors. That means your appointment looks at your back, hips, knees + ankles alongside your feet, not your feet on their own. Orthotics aren't the answer for every foot complaint, + your assessment is how we work out whether they're right for you.
What custom orthotics can help with
Foot pain is the obvious one, but it isn't the only one. Orthotics can be a supportive option whether your discomfort sits in your feet or further up the chain.
HEEL + ARCH PAIN
Heel pain, plantar fasciitis, aching arches, flat feet, or high arches. Support built around your own foot structure.
SPORT + ACTIVITY
Shin splints, recurring lower leg pain, + the repeated load of running or training.
KNEE, HIP + LOW BACK
Discomfort further up the chain that may be linked to how you stand + walk. Sometimes the fix starts at the ground.
KIDS + TEENS
Orthotics are appropriate for children of all ages, including growing feet + changes in how they walk or run.
LONG DAYS ON YOUR FEET
Foot fatigue + aching from standing work, long shifts, or busy days chasing your little one[s].
GAIT + ALIGNMENT
Differences in leg length, changes in your gait, bunions, or pressure points that keep coming back.
What to expect during your visit
Your appointment is unhurried + looks at more than your feet alone, because what shows up in your feet often starts, or ends, somewhere else.
1. A conversation about your days
We start by talking through what hurts, when it started, what your days ask of your body, + the shoes you spend the most time in. Work boots + running shoes ask different things of your feet.
2. A biomechanical assessment
Your chiropractor assesses your back, hips, knees + ankles to understand which structures + tissues may be contributing to your discomfort. This is a whole-chain look, not only a look at your feet.
3. An impression of your feet
If orthotics make sense for you, we take an impression of your feet. This is what your orthotics are built from, so they're made around your own foot structure rather than a generic size.
4. Your fitting + settling in
Your orthotics are ready in roughly two weeks. We'll check the fit + talk through breaking them in, since most people wear them for short stretches at first + build up from there.
